The Soul’s impressive head and shoulder room is attributable to an innovative seating layout and design. This gives enhanced space utility and interior versatility. The High-spec Soul has the option of an interior colour pack, offering customisation in its most complete form. The centre fascia is a unique design that features a crash pad that is slanted, promoting enhanced space utility.

THE PERFORMANCE
The Soul is available with a choice of either a 1.6 DOHC petrol engine with Continuous Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) or a 1.6 diesel engine with a Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) for added power and efficiency. In conjunction with its lightweight aluminium cylinder block the petrol engine delivers a maximum power output of 91.2kW @ 6 300rpm and a maximum torque of 156Nm @ 4 200rpm. The diesel engine delivers a maximum power output of 94kW @ 4 000rpm and a maximum torque of 260Nm @ 1 900 - 2 750rpm.
THE PROTECTION
Enhanced passenger protection is provided through an energy absorbing body structure that minimises damage. The front chassis also makes extensive use of high-tensile steel and anti-corrosion steel. Three-point seatbelts are available in both front and rear, with the front seatbelts having pretensioners and load-limiters.
The best safety features are the ones that avoid collisions. The Soul has a fully independent front and twist-beam rear suspension system designed to deliver a highly responsive ride. The active headrests move forward and upward within milliseconds of an impact to cushion the head and prevent whiplash. The Rear Parking Assist System* prevents collisions when reversing by identifying objects or obstructions and emitting an audible warning signal. A standard four-channel, four-sensor, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) incorporates an Electronic Brake-force Distributor (EBD) for enhanced control, improved stability and stopping power. The Soul also comes with a SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) consisting of dual front, side and full-length curtain airbags.*
